2005 filly, not yet registered, barn name "Desiree" is a full sister to Lone Star Legacy below. She is the closest thing I have had to a good enough replacement for her mother, who is my best horse of a lifetime... She is so kind and gentle. She is up at summer camp right now, and the kids come in an old noisy van, and she just walks up to the gate and waits for them all to come see her. They yell and shove and fight over who gets to feed her a bit of hay, and she just stands there and lets them all pet her on her face, ears, nostrils, neck, whatever bit of her is within reach. She doesn't nip or nudge, and neither does her mama. They could work in a petting zoo, I swear! She is shedding out to a nice roan color. I am excited about that, never had a roan before. Her neck is long and elegant with a clean throatlatch and it and ties in high on her chest. Her head is beautiful and feminine, plenty of width between the eyes, (one blue, one brown) which are well set, and her muzzle is very petite with delicate and well formed nostrils. Her legs are excellent, her hip is full and well made. Her topline is great, and she looks like she will be around 15.3 or so. She is plenty perky when she is turned out and playing, but she seems to be as close to bomproof as a baby could be, just like her mama was. She has charisma, and people just fall in love when they are around her. Doesn't matter if then know horses or not. Something about this filly just puts a gravitational pull on everyone who sees her. She just sucks them in. Her dam was like that as a baby. I know it when I see it, and she has "it."

Her full brother, "Lone Star Legacy" foaled April 9, 2004. He measured 40" at the withers at one day old, and 32" around the girth. His belly is as high as his mom's the day he was born. He will be nice size when grown. I'm betting 15.2 hh. He is friendly, gentle natured and easy to handle. He is well marked on both sides, blue eyes, with striking eyeliner on both. His neck ties in high on his well muscled chest. His face is slightly dished, with nice width between the eyes. His hip is long and ties in nice and low behind. He is Impressive, Sonny Go Lucky and Barlinks Machoman top and bottom, making him an excellent show prospect. Nominated to Breeders Trust, he is also elegible for major west coast futurities. Currently fuzzy and outdoors, he has a very easy to work with, friendly disposition, quiet around street traffic. Pretty enough to WIN at halter, he is kind enough for a youth or amature mount. He is also very handy, with a flat kneed, easy lope and satin smooth jog. He nudges a large ball around with definite purpose. I recommend him as a working cowhorse deluxe prospect. He is handled daily, trimmed regularly and up to date on his shots, including West Nile. He is easy to catch in a large pasture and plays well with others. Honest to God, I hope this one doesn't sell. I want to keep him forever and ride him 'til his shoes are paper thin. He is five months, three weeks old in the photo to the left. Her Sire, 1999 APHA stallion, "Texas Legacy" placed top five at the world show, is a National Honor Roll Stallion, California State Champion 2 Year Old and California Reserve State Champion Amature 3 Year Old. He is a Superior Halter Stallion, with 89 lifetime halter points. He stands 15.3, is Impressive, Sonny Go Lucky, Barlinks Machoman, Sky Bug Bingo, Scribbles, and Mr Robin Boy Breeding. His foals are elegible for Bakersfield, Arizona and Rancho Murietta futurites. He is Breeder's Trust Nominated. He is N/H
Her dam, a 1993 APHA mare "Misters First Lady" is a World Champion producer, a proven dam who consistently outproduces herself. She is a halter point earner and futurity money winner. She placed first under all six judges in weanling fillies at the Paso Robles "Wine and Roses" Paint O' Rama in 1993. She is the dam of five foals to date. Learn more about her other babies by visiting her web page. She is a versatile dam, producing not only halter type, but also excellent perfomance prospects, and some that can do both. She is Barlinks Machoman, Sonny Go Lucky, Sir Quincy Dan, Triples Titan, Impressive and Yellow Mount breeding. She is N/N
This photo, taken at four months, shows how soft her expression is, and it shows her clean neck, refined face, correct legs. Here she is tied after a bath, learning patience.
This photo, taken at three months, three weeks, is a casual side shot of her after yet another hosing off. (It has been hot this summer!) She has GREAT COLOR, balanced on both sides. Look closely and you can see a big heart on her right shoulder. Note her nice, hip, clean neck, WIDE between the eyes, with still a bit of skull waiting to flatten out. Her pasterns are excellent, her hip and shoulder angles match, it is hard to fault this one.
New photos taken 4/05/06. She was turned out in December, and immediately had her tail chewed. (sorry) She has grown some, and is in a lean, stretchy phase right now. She is underweight and has been on straight bermuda hay. I don't trust anyone else graining my horses outside in rainy weather. Better lean and safe than fat and sorry. Anyhow, this morning I took a few pics with no one helping me, so they are just of her tied, or me holding the lead and taking the photos too. You can see different views of her by clicking on the name of the view you would like to see. front right left rear tailset as well as a few short video clips. The video clips are in AVI format and can be viewed with Internet Explorer. The clips are simply named One, Two, Three, Four, FIve, Six. It was muddy out and I did not want her to get hurt. That is why the clips are so short, I just eased her around and took a few quick clips because you can tell so much more from a short clip than a single photo. She has gotten quite a lot of roaning now, and appears to carry the sabino as well as the frame overo genes, making her an excellent color producing broodmare prospect. Her mama has both genes, and every single baby of hers has had color, just two out of the seven had too small of a belly spot to qualify. All seven are definitly paints, genetically though.
